About me, and about doulas

Hi! I’m Maddie Burroughs of Honeylocust Doula Care. I serve the birthing people of the Seattle area with compassionate, non-judgmental care as they do the hard and sacred work of bringing their babies into the world. I believe birth is a natural and safe process, but still one that requires holistic preparation, so I draw on my training from Bastyr University’s Simkin Center, Spinning Babies®, and my own experiences to provide you with the most comprehensive support that I can.

Birth Support

A typical package includes 2 prenatal support sessions, after which I'll be on call for you for five weeks surrounding your due date.

At your birth, (no matter where or how you want it to happen) I'll be there to support you physically and emotionally as you do this hard and sacred work.

After your birth, I'll meet with you in a one-hour session to ensure you have what you need as you start life with your new baby.

Testimonials

Madeline is a close friend of mine and I was so excited to have her as my doula for my first baby! Unfortunately, I ended up needing a C-section not too soon after my "labor" started. Although we didn't get to thoroughly practice all the labor prep we had done together (i.e. birth classes, spinning babies videos, recommended books on labor, podcasts to listen to, going through my birth plan, etc.), Maddie was an excellent source of encouragement and helped me grieve the labor I didn't get. She was there for me in the weeks after my baby's birth and visited us multiple times while we were in the NICU, being an invaluable resource to us during a hard time. We are lucky to know her!
